The second day of the Fashion Week 2 on Tuesday kicked off with usual frenzy.
After an introduction by Maheen Khan, the models hit the ramp and the fun began.
Young and upcoming designers were provided a wonderful platform through this
event, which started on Monday.
It is scheduled to showcase 52 designers, 49 of whom are from Pakistan, while the
others are from Malaysia, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. As usual,
versatility and glamour were the call of the day, with designers like Deepak Perwani,
Maheen Khan and Shumail stunning everyone with their revelling creations.
It is relevant to mention here that participants from two fashion design schools
stunned the audience with their creations. Students representing the Pakistan
Institute of Fashion Design and the Asian Institute of Fashion Design presented
varying designs in chiffon, leather and silk in myriad of colours that were very well
presented by the models.
On the first day of the Fashion Week, 11 designers showcased their work. However,
Sana Safina’s and Zaheer Abbas took the limelight. Also intriguing was a UAE-based
designer with a collection titled Veil that brought up the loaded question of
segregation in our society.
All in all, the show was well attended with all the whos who of the fashion world, for
which the credit goes to its organiser Ayesha Tammy Haq.
